CONTINUING EDUCATION

ADVANCED OPEN WATER SCUBA DIVER COURSE

Our intermediate course for graduating Open Water SCUBA Diver students.

After acquiring skills in a Lighthouse open water course, students are encouraged to enroll shortly thereafter in this course, which will expand their diving horizons and confidence by introducing them to a variety of underwater activities. Students will do three dives in the core specialties of deep diving, night diving and underwater navigation, and have their choice of two other specialty dives, including drysuit, nitrox, boat diver, drift diver, digital photographer, search, recovery and salvage diver, wreck diver, DPV (underwater scooter) diver, and naturalist/marine identification, among others.  This course allows you to expand your diving comfort zone in a variety of conditions, under the safe supervision of your instructor. This is a fun, moderately challenging course!

Course Fee:  $199.95 per person.

Prerequisites:  Open Water Scuba Diver certification from any internationally-recognized SCUBA certification agency.

Required materials:  Advanced Education kit (academic materials), underwater writing slate, two dive lights (one larger Primary light and one smaller Back-up light), underwater compass (wrist, console-mounted, or retractor-mounted).  Students are encouraged to have their own SCUBA gear, but basic SCUBA rental package for course (wetsuit, BCD, regulator, cylinders, and weights) is available for $70.

Upgrades: - Drysuit certification upgrade for only $150, including drysuit rental for
                   course.
                    - Nitrox certification upgrade for only $125.

RESCUE DIVER COURSE

Most students say this is the best dive course they have ever taken!

This challenging course not only prepares a diver to execute both surface and underwater searches and rescues, but more importantly, teaches the diver to recognize and prevent those situations that might make a rescue necessary.  This is recommended for all divers as a core part of your continuing education.  You will attend class lectures, at least one pool skill session, and a weekend of diving.

Course Fee:  $249.95 per person

Prerequisites:  Advanced Open Water Diver certification and a minimum of 20 dives.  Current CPR and First Aid certifications are required for this course (available through Lighthouse), and Oxygen Provider certification is strongly recommended.

Required Materials:  Rescue Education kit, underwater slate, safety surface marker, Dive Alert. Students are encouraged to have their own SCUBA gear, but basic SCUBA rental package for course (wetsuit, BCD, regulator, cylinders, and weights) is available for $70.
